The combination of Pilates and Massage Therapy has a profound effect on one's body and its ability to move in a balanced, stable manner. Massage is one of the oldest and most basic healing therapies. Based on sciences and physiology, massage acts as a mechanical cleanser, pushing along lymphatic fluid and aiding in the elimination of waste and toxins. Massage improves the general circulation, nutrition of tissues and muscle fibers.
Other benefits include relief and healing from injury, enhanced function of the joints and muscles, relief of tension and chronic pain, lower blood pressure, stress relief, deep relaxation and increased body awareness.
Body Fundamentals offers a wide variety of massage therapy treatments to specifically meet your needs including Swedish and Deep Tissue massage and Acupressure.

Swedish Massage:
Swedish style massage is the foundation of all massage treatments methods. This style uses a variety of long, flowing movements with moderate pressure to help improve circulation, release tension, soothe tired muscles, relax the mind, body and spirit.
Deep Tissue Massage:
This treatment combines a variety of moderate to deep pressure and isolates specific muscle groups or areas of soreness. This treatment helps to release muscle spasms and regain overall body balance.
Acupressure:
A non-invasive treatment focusing on applying pressure to Acupressure points along the meridians, or energy channels, within the body to release tension and relieve pain. Similar to acupuncture, but without the use of acupuncture needles, this treatment applies sustained pressure from the practitioner's fingers, hands and elbows to Acupressure points helping to release tension and increase circulation to the muscle fibers. Excellent for freeing blocked energy, balancing the body's meridians and enhancing the flow of energy, or chi throughout the body.
Reflexology:
Based on an ancient Asian art of healing, Reflexology is similar to Acupressure massage, but focuses specifically on applying pressure to the acupressure points in the scalp, hands and feet. In addition to helping balance the body's overall chi energy, this treatment can target specific internal organs and muscular alignment to create better balance within the body.
